Love the challenge of making sure top mototorsports cars stay working properly and safely? Want to use your embedded controls skills to give a motorsports team a competitive edge? If so, this Software and Controls Engineer role could be right up your street.

The reason they’re hiring? Well, off the back of some great performances, they’ve got their sights set on the next phase of success – as well as a brand-new generation of car – and need the best people to come along on that journey.

Could that be you?

What will your day to day look like?

This role is all about being the brains behind the car. From braking to power, energy recovery to stability, you’ll keep the cogs turning to make the car as fast and reliable as possible. Day-to-day this might have you doing things like:

  • Designing and developing embedded control strategies
  • Creating and maintaining real-time control software
  • Aligning software with vehicle performance targets
  • Integrating control systems with ECUs
  • Fault finding and software debugging
  • Making sure everything you do complies with motorsport regulations
  • Always seeking opportunities for continuous improvement

You’ll play a huge part in making sure the vehicles reach optimum performance through real-time control strategies and systems development.

This role will suit you if you...
  • Have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechatronics or similar
  • Have worked in a motorsports/automotive environment for at least 5 years
  • Understand embedded controls environments
  • Know a thing or two (a lot!) about control theory and embedded systems
  • Are proficient in MATLAB/Simulink and code generation
  • Are used to embedded C-programming
  • Understand vehicle networks like CAN, LIN and FlexRay
  • Have experience with HIL/SIL environments
  • Are comfortable working with calibration tools
  • Understand motorsport electronics systems (like ECUs and data loggers)
  • Love solving a problem that’s in front of you
  • Really focus on the detail – nothing gets past you

Think this could be your next role?
