They’re aiming for technical and performance excellence, and a huge part of this is hiring a brand-new Technical Director based in Europe that’ll set the roadmap that gets them there.
What will your day to day look like?
You’ll oversee everything to do with technical direction of the team and the car. From race day technical leadership to behind-the-scenes direction, this role is all about creating a high-performance culture that gets the team the results it’s after.
You’ll build, structure, and lead an incredibly capable team to really push the boundaries of performance and constantly strive for excellence. Here’s a sample of the things you’ll be responsible for:
- Being the technical direction for all engineering domains
- Handling the budget and the cost cap in line with project objectives
- Allocating resources across development, operations and more
- Acting as the overall lead for new development projects
- Defining all sub-projects, from deliverables to timelines
- Managing technical contracts with parts suppliers
- Monitoring and reporting on supplier performance
- Defining testing objectives and approving testing plans
- Coordinating fault-finding and problem solving across all groups
- Representing the team in working groups and committees
- Acting as the go between for the team and the FIA
- Making sure all activities are compliant with regulations
- Making technical decisions during race events
- Mentoring, guiding and developing teams of engineers
