You’ve led sales teams in oil and gas before, and you know that strong results come from more than setting targets. It’s about coaching your people, getting involved in the deals that matter, and making sure the team has a clear strategy for winning business. Now you want greater influence over how that strategy is shaped and delivered.

As Sales Manager, you’ll lead a team selling SaaS solutions to oil and gas operators, combining hands-on coaching with direct involvement in major customer opportunities. You’ll use a strategic, value-based selling approach to develop your team, strengthen customer relationships, and drive consistent performance against a $4–6M annual growth target.

If you enjoy developing salespeople as much as closing deals yourself, this is a chance to take on a significant commercial leadership role. You’ll have the opportunity to shape how your team sells, stay close to senior customers, and make a direct impact on revenue growth across a substantial energy customer portfolio.

You’ll lead a sales team working with upstream oil and gas operators, from smaller independent businesses to major producers. Combining hands-on coaching with commercial leadership, you’ll help your team retain customers, grow existing accounts and win new business through energy-focused SaaS solutions.

  • Take ownership of revenue performance across customer retention, account expansion and new business.
  • Deliver accurate weekly forecasts covering monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
  • Run pipeline reviews, forecast calls and deal discussions to identify risks and keep opportunities moving.
  • Recruit, train and develop experienced Account Executives through regular coaching, team meetings and one-to-ones.
  • Support key customer conversations and negotiations, acting as an escalation point on complex deals.
  • Set territories, quotas and account assignments, adapting coverage as the business develops.
  • Coach your team across renewals, upselling, cross-selling and complex enterprise sales involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Business Development, Customer Success and Product teams to coordinate sales activity.
  • Use sales data and market insights to inform pricing, discounting, territory planning and campaigns.
  • Represent the business at industry events and association meetings.
  • Help improve sales processes and share performance updates and recommendations with senior leadership.

This role will suit you if you…

  • Bring experience within upstream oil and gas or the wider energy industry.
  • Have at least seven years’ sales experience, ideally spanning both individual contributor and leadership roles.
  • Have spent at least three years managing a high-performing sales team of five or more people.
  • Can demonstrate SaaS sales success across customer retention, recurring revenue growth and winning new customers.
  • Have consistently achieved sales targets and know how to help others deliver against theirs.
  • Understand the full solution sales process, from qualification and identifying decision-makers through to proposals, negotiation and close.
  • Are confident coaching experienced salespeople while giving them the independence to manage their accounts.
  • Use Salesforce or a similar CRM daily to manage opportunities, monitor pipeline and maintain reliable forecasts.
  • Have practical experience using AI tools to improve sales team efficiency.
  • Communicate clearly, collaborate across departments and bring a proactive approach to solving problems.
  • Ideally have experience leading sales across different account sizes, managing complex enterprise deals and developing strategic account plans.
  • Can bring existing relationships within the oil and gas operator community, although this isn’t essential.
