Race Engineer

You'll take ownership of the engineering relationship with your driver, translating data into decisions and working closely with the wider performance team to maximise every opportunity on and off the circuit. What will your day to day look like?
You’ll act as the lead engineer for one race car, taking ownership of its technical performance and engineering execution across testing, simulator work and race events.

• Lead all technical and operational activity for one race car
• Work closely with the driver to understand feedback and turn it into clear engineering direction
• Define and optimise car setup using data, simulation tools and wider performance input
• Build and manage run plans across practice, qualifying and race sessions
• Make fast, data-led decisions during events to maximise performance
• Collaborate with Manufacturer, Performance, Simulation, Systems, Strategy and Tyre Engineers
• Ensure the car remains legal and compliant with sporting and technical regulations
• Lead post-event analysis, reporting and performance reviews
• Identify areas for improvement across car performance, engineering processes and race operations
• Support a high-performance team environment where communication stays clear under pressure

You’ll play a key role in turning driver feedback, data and team insight into competitive performance on track.


This role will suit you if you…

• Have at least 3 years’ experience as a Race Engineer or in a senior motorsport engineering role
• Have worked in high-level motorsport such as Formula E, F1, WEC, IndyCar, F2 or F3
• Understand vehicle dynamics, setup direction and performance optimisation
• Can build trust with drivers and communicate clearly under pressure
• Are confident making time-critical decisions using data and engineering judgement
• Have experience using data analysis tools such as ATLAS
• Are comfortable working with simulation tools and performance data
• Are highly organised, proactive and strong with planning and reporting
• Work well across multidisciplinary engineering groups
• Ideally understand electric powertrains, energy management or Formula E environments
• Ideally have programming experience in Python, MATLAB, VBA or similar
• Hold a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, Motorsport Engineering or a related field
