You know myopia management is becoming a bigger part of everyday optical care. The challenge is helping practices feel confident enough to talk about it, recommend it, and make it part of the patient journey.

That’s where this role comes in. You’ll work closely with optometrists, dispensing opticians and wider practice teams, delivering training, building relationships and helping more optical businesses grow their myopia management offering.

As Myopia Consultant, you’ll take your optical knowledge into the field, becoming a trusted voice for customers across your region. For someone with clinical credibility, strong communication skills and the appetite to move into a more commercial role, this is a brilliant opportunity to grow your career with a market-leading ophthalmic company.

Who’s it for and what’s in it for you?
This market-leading ophthalmic company has employees singing their praises - they are continually described as an open and caring culture that values the welfare of both employees and customers that use their premium technical lenses. They're looking for enthusiastic people with a can-do attitude, and in return they'll offer healthcare and pension benefits.

What will your day to day look like?
You’ll be responsible for developing the myopia management category across your territory, working closely with optical practices, eyecare professionals and NHS hospital contacts to increase awareness, engagement and adoption.

  • Act as the lead myopia expert across your geographical region
  • Build relationships with optometrists, dispensing opticians, contact lens opticians and optical support teams
  • Work with optical practices to develop myopia management as a core vision solution
  • Deliver clinical, technical and CPD training in practices, workshops and group sessions
  • Run regional evening events and educational sessions around myopia management
  • Support patient journey training to help practices improve conversations and confidence
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing and Professional Services teams
  • Help create new training, education and support tools for customers
  • Build relationships with NHS eye clinic teams and raise awareness of myopia management options
  • Track activity, visit reports and customer updates through CRM
  • Monitor competitor activity and wider market developments
  • Attend trade shows and support professional events when needed

You’ll play an important role in helping more optical businesses build confidence in myopia management, while supporting better awareness and education across the wider eyecare market.

This role will suit you if you…

  • Have field-based sales experience and/or experience working in optical practice dispensing
  • Hold an optical qualification, such as Dispensing Optician, Contact Lens Optician or Optometrist
  • Understand the optical market and can build strong relationships with eyecare professionals
  • Have strong ocular knowledge and are confident discussing clinical or technical information
  • Enjoy presenting to groups, delivering training and supporting customer education
  • Are self-motivated, organised and comfortable managing a territory independently
  • Have strong communication skills across one-to-one, written and group settings
  • Are persuasive, professional and confident working with customers
  • Can manage KPIs, sales activity and CRM reporting accurately
  • Are proactive, curious and keen to keep learning
  • Have good Microsoft Office and administration skills
  • Hold a valid driving licence and are comfortable with frequent travel

It would also be useful if you have experience with ophthalmic lenses, myopia management, optical sales, CPD delivery or working with NHS eye clinic teams.
