Most Field CTO roles are really senior pre-sales positions with a different title.

This isn't one of them.

This is a role for someone who understands manufacturing, has lived through EAM transformation programmes, and can sit in a boardroom helping executives solve business problems rather than simply explaining software features. You'll be the bridge between customers, product, engineering, and commercial teams, helping shape strategy as much as supporting growth.

The business is at an exciting stage. It has a strong platform, a growing market presence, and ambitious plans for the US manufacturing sector and has been recently recognised as the #1 EAM provider by Gartner. Your expertise will play a key role in educating the market, challenging conventional thinking, and helping customers understand what's possible when maintenance, operations, and safety are brought together on a single platform.

For someone who enjoys influencing strategy, building credibility with senior leaders, and having a genuine voice in the direction of a business, this is a rare opportunity to operate at the intersection of technology, manufacturing, and commercial growth.

Who’s it for and what’s in it for you?

The software our client develops is used within the world’s most asset-intensive organisations to keep critical operations running smoothly, that’s how good their offerings are. The platform is used by maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to reduce downtime, manage assets, and overall to improve performance.

With a fast-growing international presence, backed by a global-tech giant and strong existing reputation in the enterprise software market, they manage to find a great blend of a global business with a culture that is product focused. Working here gives you the opportunity to work with technology that delivers measurable, real-world impact.

What will your day to day look like?

The key focus of this role is to lead the North American pre-sales strategy, building a senior team that can engage manufacturing leaders through consultative discovery and connect operational challenges to clear business value.

  • Build and lead a team of senior pre-sales consultants across the central US manufacturing region

  • Engage board-level and operational leaders, including COOs, SVPs of Operations, and maintenance executives

  • Oversee structured discovery and benchmarking engagements across complex manufacturing organisations

  • Help sales teams position technology around innovation, operational improvement, and measurable value

  • Develop the team’s consultative, industry-led approach rather than relying on traditional product demonstrations

  • Capture customer insight and feed emerging requirements back into product strategy

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across sales, product, consulting, and European pre-sales teams

  • Shape how the business builds credibility and scales its presence in the North American market

This is a highly influential opportunity to build a modern pre-sales function, shape go-to-market strategy, and play a visible role in accelerating growth across the US manufacturing market.

This role will suit you if you…

  • Have held a senior leadership role within manufacturing, maintenance, operational excellence, or industrial transformation

  • Understand maintenance operations and enterprise asset management challenges

  • Have experience leading or supporting major transformation and software implementation programmes

  • Can engage confidently with board-level and senior operational stakeholders

  • Are skilled in consultative discovery, one-to-one interviews, and value-led customer conversations

  • Have led and developed senior pre-sales, consulting, or implementation teams

  • Can connect software capabilities to operational and commercial outcomes

  • Have experience with EAM platforms such as Maximo, SAP Plant Maintenance, Infor EAM, Hexagon EAM, or similar

  • Are based in, or willing to relocate to, the central US manufacturing region and are comfortable travelling regularly
