This role puts you at the centre of that work. You’ll lead DiL development, bring engineering teams together, and make sure simulation activity is focused on the areas that can have the biggest impact on performance. It’s a chance to move away from reactive support and into a role where you can set priorities, improve collaboration, and drive the function forward.

What will your day to day look like?
You’ll lead a specialist simulator and performance engineering function, using driver-in-the-loop testing to support car development, race preparation and long-term performance improvement.

•    Lead the simulator team in planning, running and analysing structured test programmes
•    Use simulator activity to support car performance development and setup direction
•    Support race event preparation through pre-event, on-event and post-event testing
•    Analyse simulator results and turn findings into clear performance recommendations
•    Contribute to future car concept work through simulation-led development
•    Monitor correlation between virtual and real-world performance data
•    Work closely with race engineering, drivers and wider performance groups
•    Help prioritise modelling improvements and virtual car development
•    Develop tools, processes and testing methods to improve data quality and decision-making
•    Identify new technologies and techniques to improve simulator accuracy and driver immersion
•    Manage and develop the simulator driver pool

You’ll play a key role in connecting driver feedback, simulator data and engineering insight to support better performance on track.

This role will suit you if you…
•    Have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or a similar discipline
•    Have a strong background in car performance analysis and development
•    Understand vehicle dynamics and how it interacts with aerodynamics, power unit and wider car systems
•    Have experience working with driver-in-the-loop simulation or advanced simulation tools
•    Can lead, develop and motivate a technical team
•    Are confident managing multiple objectives in a high-performance engineering environment
•    Can translate complex data into clear engineering decisions
•    Communicate well with drivers, engineers and cross-functional teams
•    Are collaborative, detail-focused and comfortable working under pressure
•    Are proactive in improving tools, processes and testing standards
•    Have a strong interest in using simulation to unlock real-world performance gains
