As a Business Development Manager, you’ll focus on winning enterprise customers across the construction technology market, using your sector knowledge to build strong commercial conversations and turn opportunities into revenue. You’ll own the sales process, work with senior stakeholders, and be expected to keep pace against a £1m annual target.

What will your day to day look like?
You’ll drive new business growth across the construction sector, building relationships with contractors and developers and helping them improve safety, compliance and productivity through technology. Taking ownership of the full enterprise sales cycle, you’ll turn customer challenges into tailored solutions and long-term commercial relationships.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Generating opportunities through prospecting, referrals, networking and marketing leads.
- Building a qualified pipeline and engaging senior decision-makers within target accounts.
- Understanding customer needs and delivering tailored product demonstrations and presentations.
- Preparing proposals, tender responses and requests for information or proposals.
- Leading commercial negotiations and managing deals through to contract signature.
- Working closely with internal teams to support a smooth handover to Customer Success and Account Management.
- Maintaining accurate Salesforce records, sales forecasts and activity reporting.
- Sharing customer feedback, competitor insight and construction market developments with Product and Marketing teams.
This role will suit you if you…
- Have proven success in business development, enterprise sales or SaaS, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Have managed complex B2B sales cycles from initial prospecting through to close.
- Take a consultative approach, connecting customer challenges with clear business value.
- Are confident presenting to senior stakeholders and leading commercial negotiations.
- Have experience preparing proposals, tenders and formal information requests.
- Bring strong relationship-building, organisation and pipeline management skills, alongside experience using a CRM, ideally Salesforce.
- Are proactive, resilient and commercially driven, with a collaborative approach to winning business.
- Understand the challenges facing construction businesses and how technology can help address them.
Experience in construction technology, workforce management, health and safety, HR or compliance software would be advantageous, as would selling to major contractors.
