Area Sales Manager - Netherlands

As Area Sales Manager, you’ll work with pharmaceutical and cosmetics manufacturers across the Netherlands, helping them improve production through the right packaging machinery and automation. You’ll get close to each customer’s operation, understand where challenges sit, and bring together the technical and commercial detail needed to move complex projects forward.

What will your day to day look like?
You’ll take ownership of sales activity across your region in Netherlands, developing new opportunities, growing existing accounts, and helping pharmaceutical and cosmetics manufacturers find the right packaging machinery and automation solutions.
- Build and manage relationships with OEMs, end users, and system integrators
- Identify new business through prospecting, customer visits, and market activity
- Meet customers on-site to understand their production challenges and investment plans
- Analyse manufacturing processes and spot opportunities for machinery or automation improvements
- Work closely with engineering teams to shape tailored technical solutions
- Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals
- Manage complex sales cycles from first conversation through to negotiation and contract close
- Build long-term relationships with engineering, procurement, production, and senior leadership teams
- Support customers throughout project delivery, installation, and commissioning
- Maintain accurate pipeline information, forecasts, and reporting through CRM
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and new applications across the region
- Represent the business at customer meetings, technical visits, and industry events

This role will suit you if you…
- Have 3–7 years’ B2B sales experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Have experience managing complex technical sales processes
- Understand machinery, automation, or industrial production environments
- Can develop new business and confidently close complex deals
- Are comfortable working with technical and commercial decision-makers
- Have strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
- Are organised and confident managing your own territory and sales pipeline
- Have experience using CRM systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Speak German to a native level and are fluent in written and spoken English
- Hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, Sales, Marketing, or a related subject
- Are proactive, commercially driven, and comfortable working independently
- Ideally have experience in packaging, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food manufacturing, or custom-built machinery
