Account Manager, Utilities 
Location: Southeastern US

This is an Account Manager role for someone who understands complex enterprise software sales and wants to work with Utility customers on mission-critical operational challenges. 

We’re looking for an experienced enterprise SaaS sales professional with a strong track record of building customer relationships, managing complex sales cycles, and positioning software around clear commercial and operational value. 

In Utilities, performance, safety, resilience, and reliability are non-negotiable. Organisations need technology that helps them make informed decisions across critical assets, turning complex operational data into actionable intelligence. 

Our client provides mission-critical software that supports decision-making across the full asset lifecycle, from design and build through to operation and protection. Their solutions help customers improve performance, resilience, and incident response in environments where failure is not an option. 

They are seeking an Account Manager to manage and grow Utility accounts across the Southeastern US. This role will focus on working closely with current and prospective customers to understand their business objectives, create appropriate solutions, and generate software license revenue across the assigned territory. 

This role is best suited to someone with enterprise SaaS or software sales experience who is confident managing multiple complex sales cycles at once. Experience selling into Utilities would be highly valuable, but the ability to build strong customer relationships, develop account strategies, and lead value-based sales conversations is essential. 
 

The Role 

You will be responsible for developing current and prospective Utility accounts, understanding customer objectives, and creating software-led solutions that meet their business requirements. 
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Articulate the value proposition of enterprise software solutions to Utility customers and prospects 

  • Develop compelling value propositions based on ROI, cost benefit analysis, and operational impact 

  • Create and execute customer account strategies and tactical go-to-market plans 

  • Prospect across the assigned territory to build a qualified pipeline 

  • Generate software license revenue across your territory and accounts 

  • Maintain a 4x pipeline and work towards consistent quarterly quota achievement 

  • Build and manage strong customer relationships across assigned accounts 

  • Handle multiple complex sales cycles simultaneously 

  • Work closely with consulting, inside sales, customer support, marketing, product, and sales leadership teams 

  • Communicate competitive advantages, resources, and processes clearly to customers and prospects 
     

About You 

Essential experience: 

  • 5+ years’ enterprise SaaS or software sales experience 

  • Demonstrated success achieving quota in enterprise software sales 

  • Currently based in the Southeastern US 

  • Ability to establish and manage strong customer relationships 

  • Experience handling multiple complex sales cycles simultaneously 

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and writing skills 

  • Comfortable presenting technical concepts in a clear and commercially relevant way 

  • Willingness to travel 30-40% 

  • Applicants must already have the right to work in the US, as sponsorship is not available for this role 
     

Preferred experience: 

  • Experience selling into the Utilities vertical 

  • Experience working effectively in a matrix-management environment 

  • Strong understanding of digital transformation opportunities in Utilities or asset-intensive sectors 

  • Ability to develop ROI-led business cases and commercial value propositions 

  • Proactive selling style with agility, creativity, and a solutions-led approach 

  • Experience working closely with consulting, customer success, product, marketing, and sales leadership teams
