What if your next account management role gave you the chance to turn established customer relationships into lasting growth, with engineered products and technical expertise behind you?

We’re working with a specialist HVAC and refrigeration manufacturer looking for an Account Manager to develop its national accounts. You’ll help customers find heating, cooling and refrigeration solutions that meet the demands of their operations, while identifying opportunities to grow business across sites and product ranges.

You’ll take ownership of the commercial relationship from handover onwards, becoming a trusted contact for customers and working closely with Sales Engineering to support their technical needs. From managing quotations to negotiating agreements, you’ll keep opportunities moving and make sure customers receive consistent support.

If you enjoy understanding how your customers work, spotting opportunities and building relationships that lead to repeat business, this could be your next move. You’ll bring commercial drive and an interest in technical products to a collaborative team that values your ideas and development.

Who’s it for and what’s in it for you?
Our client specialises in the design and production of engineered heating, cooling and refrigeration systems. Operating through several specialised divisions, our client produces custom HVAC and refrigeration equipment used in industries such as food storage, data centres, energy and manufacturing.

With its company’s values of continuous improvement, collaboration and employee empowerment, our client provides the best service to not just its systems but it’s staff. They prove this through fostering a genuinely positive work environment, as well as providing a benefits package designed to improve their people’s work and life. This includes generous PTO, comprehensive health coverage, and 401k matching from day one.

What will your day to day look like?
You’ll manage and grow established national accounts within the HVAC and refrigeration market, building strong customer relationships and identifying opportunities for repeat and expansion sales. Taking ownership after the initial business development handover, you’ll coordinate commercial activity and work closely with Sales Engineering to give customers the right technical support.
  • Support the onboarding of new accounts, ensuring a smooth transition from Business Development.
  • Become the main commercial contact for your customers, managing communications, account plans, quotations and follow-up.
  • Grow existing accounts through additional locations, replacement requirements, product expansion and sales channel development.
  • Monitor account performance against sales plans and deliver targeted campaigns to support revenue growth.
  • Visit customers and engineering firms to strengthen relationships, understand their needs and identify opportunities.
  • Explain the product portfolio and its value, bringing in Sales Engineering for detailed product selection, configuration and application advice.
  • Coordinate technical support, including drawings, performance data and product selection software training.
  • Negotiate pricing, sales terms and shipping schedules, keeping customers informed about delivery timelines and warranties.
  • Work with internal teams to resolve customer issues and maintain a positive experience throughout the account relationship.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and share insights on buying patterns, competitor activity and market trends.
  • Attend trade shows, sales meetings and industry events to develop your knowledge and network.

This role will suit you if you…
  • Enjoy developing long-term customer relationships and finding opportunities to grow established accounts.
  • Bring relevant sales or account management experience, ideally within HVAC, refrigeration or heat transfer.
  • Have a technical qualification in air conditioning and refrigeration, a mechanical engineering degree or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Can balance commercial conversations with coordinating specialist technical support.
  • Are confident preparing quotations, following up opportunities and negotiating sales terms.
  • Take a proactive approach to customer service and work collaboratively to resolve problems.
  • Are organised and comfortable managing account plans, customer records and sales performance.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, engineering contacts and colleagues.
  • Are confident using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, with familiarity with IFS and AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude.
  • Enjoy keeping up with product developments, market trends and customer needs.
  • Hold a valid driving licence and can travel approximately 10–20% of the time, including some weekend travel.
  • Are comfortable working primarily in an office, with visits to customer sites, manufacturing environments and industry events.
