Are you a strategic Account Manager with experience growing SaaS accounts across the electric power, utilities, energy trading, or financial trading markets? Our client is looking for an Account Manager to join the North American team and take ownership of a named customer portfolio. 
This is a brilliant opportunity to join an established, PE-backed market leader in electric power data and analytics solutions. Our client is already in a strong position across North America, and this role will play an important part in helping the business expand its presence across the Western US utilities market

What will your day to day look like? 

You’ll inherit a portfolio of 55 named accounts, with a clear focus on protecting, growing, and developing that book of business. This is not a new-business hunting role. It’s an account growth role focused on maintaining and expanding an existing customer base through renewals, upselling, cross-selling, price increases, and solution growth. 

An average day may include: 
  • Managing and growing a portfolio of 55 named accounts across the core markets 
  • Building trusted relationships with utilities, IPPs, asset developers, asset operators, and financial traders 
  • Identifying opportunities to expand usage across demand forecasting and original product portfolio 
  • Driving renewals, upsells, cross-sells, and price increases across your book of business 
  • Using MEDDPICC and value-based selling to identify customer priorities, manage risk, and build a clear path to growth 
  • Working closely with Customer Success Managers and technical teams to understand customer usage patterns and uncover new opportunities 
  • Preparing properly for customer conversations so you can speak intelligently about their business, challenges, and market environment 
  • Travelling to meet customers face to face and build stronger relationships across your account base 
  • Success in this role will be measured by your ability to hit and exceed a $1.6m ARR quota, while delivering customer retention, price increase, and solution growth across your named accounts. 

This role will suit you if you… 
  • Have 4+ years of successful SaaS sales or account management experience 
  • Have grown a portfolio of strategic or enterprise accounts 
  • Have sold SaaS into the electric power, utilities, energy trading, or financial trading markets 
  • Have sold to personas such as financial traders, asset developers, asset operators, utilities, or IPPs 
  • Understand how to use MEDDPICC and value-based selling to drive revenue growth 
  • Can build meaningful relationships with senior decision-makers and internal stakeholders 
  • Are analytical, organised, and confident using customer data to shape your account strategy 
  • Are comfortable working closely with Customer Success, technical teams, and wider commercial teams 
  • See the value in travelling to meet customers face to face
  • Are coachable, curious, resilient, and motivated by winning
