Account Manager - IVD
UK Wide
£50,000
You’ve got the scientific knowledge to understand what’s happening in the lab, but you also enjoy the people side of the role. Building relationships, understanding what customers need, and becoming someone they know they can rely on.
As an Account Manager, you’ll work closely with NHS laboratories, using your biomedical science, biochemistry, or immunodiagnostics experience to have credible conversations with customers. You’ll take ownership of your accounts, stay close to their needs, and make sure relationships continue to develop over time.
If you’re organised, confident with customers, and want to combine your scientific background with a commercial career, this is an opportunity to build strong partnerships across the diagnostics market and become a trusted point of contact for your customers.
Who’s it for and what’s in it for you?
Our client sits at the heart of healthcare. They develop medical imaging, AI and digital tech that helps clinicians to diagnose conditions earlier and make better decisions for their patients. From MRI to CT, X-Ray to Ultrasound, their technologies combine cutting edge systems with a very human purpose that's all about making a difference.
Speaking of making a difference, they're a great place to be if you want to really advance your career. They'll support you from day one, through proper education programmes, exposure to lots of different projects across the business, and proper professional development. You'll also get access to a solid benefits package that includes things like performance bonuses, a set of wheels, medical coverage, more annual leave than the average, and a generous pension scheme.
What will your day to day look like?
You’ll grow relationships with new and existing customers across the in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) market, combining account management with clinical and technical support. Working across human and veterinary healthcare, you’ll help customers identify the right solutions and support them from initial demonstrations through to implementation and training.
You will also be:
- Identifying new business opportunities and developing existing accounts to achieve sales targets.
- Delivering product demonstrations and coordinating customer installations, clinical evaluations and trials.
- Understanding customer training needs and delivering programmes that build confidence in using diagnostic equipment.
- Working with colleagues and distributors to support larger projects, product launches and business development plans.
- Maintaining accurate sales forecasts, opportunity records and pricing information.
- Monitoring competitor activity and attending industry events to build relationships and identify opportunities.
- Coordinating with internal teams to resolve customer queries and ensure effective ongoing support.
- Travelling regularly to customers, primarily across England, with wider regional support when required.
This role will suit you if you…
- Have experience selling into the IVD market, particularly within biochemistry, immunodiagnostics or point-of-care testing.
- Bring strong clinical and technical knowledge, supported by relevant industry experience or an academic or laboratory background in life sciences.
- Enjoy developing new business while building lasting relationships with existing customers.
- Can explain technical information clearly and confidently deliver presentations, demonstrations and training.
- Are commercially minded and comfortable working with pricing, margins and sales forecasts.
- Take an organised, proactive approach and can manage your time independently across a large territory.
- Are confident using CRM systems and tools such as Excel and PowerPoint.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners and are comfortable with regular travel.
