We are seeking a Senior Director of Sales to drive market expansion, build strong partnerships, and ensure customer satisfaction through effective sales strategies and outstanding leadership across the US.  

The company 

FMC Talent is supporting a software vendor at the core of digital transformation in the process manufacturing space. With an established North American influence, they are seeking to bring their tailored process simulation software to tackle productivity and efficiency amongst customers across the European market. 

The role

You will develop and execute strategic sales initiatives and drive the GTM strategy across the US to promote and sell our client's advanced simulation software solutions, with approx. 90% new business and 10% existing business. You will lead a growing sales team (8+) across multiple product groups to help contribute to the overall growth and success of the organisation.  

Other responsibilities include:

  • Work across multiple channels to market, on a global market 
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities 
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute a sales plan 
  • Drive the full sales cycle 
  • Understand customer needs and pain points 
  • Stay up to date with the industry trends, competitive landscape and emerging enhancements  

The requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, MBA considered a plus, as well as…

  • Proven track record of 7-10 years in Engineering Simulation Software 
  • 5+ years in a leadership or management role 
  • Extensive experience selling complex software solutions  
  • Strong understanding of engineering processes, simulation technology and product development 
  • Strategic thinker 
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities 
  • Specific experience selling software to the Oil & Gas, Chemical, Water & Wastewater, Power, Mining and other process industries considered a plus 
  • Track record of exceeding sales targets and building dynamic, global sales teams
