Following a fresh wave of investment, our client has a new opportunity for a Strategic Business Consultant to join their team as they scale their capabilities across the Oil & Gas markets. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a brand new role within one of the most exciting specialists in the software simulation space.

Our client is a simulation software provider who is recognised globally for their ground-breaking work with digital twin technology. They are a digital transformation company that are committed to and focused on protecting the world’s critical energy infrastructure via cutting-edge simulation software solutions, helping asset-intensive industries leverage digital technology to drive safety and efficiency.

The role

As a Strategic Business Consultant, you’ll work closely with key Oil & Gas and energy operators across Europe to develop executive business plans. Through providing niche industry insights and identifying opportunities to upsell, you’ll position the software portfolio to address their unique business challenges and maximise their operational efficiency. You will bring strategic guidance, technical expertise and a sense of leadership to your client management.

  • Becoming a true portfolio expert to provide guidance based on customer need  
  • Cementing business relationships at all levels 
  • Developing clear and effective written proposals for customers 
  • Delivering projects on time and to budget 
  • Monitoring strategic and operational factors
  • Protecting and enhancing our client’s reputation
  • Collaborating with Product, Marketing and Sales leaders to achieve business objectives  
  • Creating an entrepreneurial and driven team culture 

The requirements

You’ll have 5+ years as a consultant within a reputable firm, with a demonstrable track record of commercial (B2B) engagements, as well as: 

  • Degree educated in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business (Master’s is desirable) 
  • Strong experience with operators and simulation software vendors within the Oil & Gas, Energy, Renewables, Mining and Chemicals industries 
  • Familiar with industry standards and regulations 
  • Exceptional strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Proven problem management skills with a demonstrable ability to lead complex consulting projects 
  • Blend of technical expertise and commercial acumen 
  • Able to form meaningful relationships with key accounts and industry stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Posses a high sense of discretion and professionalism
  • Meticulous with an ability to grow something from scratch
  • Fast learner who relishes a technical challenge
