Our client, a global simulation technology company, has explosive growth plans and is looking for a Technology Sales Executive to join their team in Canada (West).

Our client empowers their field operators to help the Process Industry become safer and more efficient. Their global simulation technology serves Plant Managers, Operations Leaders and L&D. Professionals by increasing productivity, achieving maintenance standards, and avoiding safety and environmental incidents. Our client continues to work on improving how the world interacts with the virtual environment.

The role

As a Technology Sales Executive, your core focus will be on expanding our client’s portfolio across Canada. You will meet with prospective customers, develop new profitable business relationships and work to ensure the company’s sales goals are achieved.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
  • Working with the sales and operations teams in achieving sales goals
  • Establishing and maintaining business relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting the sales process from business development through to negotiation
  • Delivering projects on time and to budget
  • Ensuring rapid responses to sales requests
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of the customer's business


The requirements

Our client is looking for a top salesperson with extensive operations and plant leadership experience within the chemical markets, as well as:

  • Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline
  • At least 5 years of experience in relevant technical sales in the industry
  • Background in operations, ideally selling goods in and out of areas within chemical plants
  • Strong interest in moving from hardware to software
  • Knowledge of a large network of operations contacts (petrochemical markets)
  • Demonstrable, successful track record in plant-based sales
  • Able to communicate sales processes and strategies
  • Proven self-starter who can build trusting relationships with customers
  • Positive, motivated, and driven by finding new business opportunities
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong team-working ability
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Able to travel across the territory (when permitted)
