Project Support Engineer

What you’ll be doing
You will ensure timely and efficient set-up of new customer projects to deliver industry-leading service across two test facilities in Milton Keynes. You will install, re-configure, calibrate and de-bug equipment and systems across internal combustion engines, hybrid systems and electric powertrains.

Your day to day might look a little like this: 

• Delivering technical requirements for customer projects 
• Technical ownership of test cell and equipment configuration 
• Standardisation of test set-up equipment 
• Commissioning of new equipment 
• Contributing to communication plans 
• Maintaining asset databases to track equipment status  
• Identifying continuous improvement opportunities  

A bit about you 
Ideally, you’ll be based in Milton Keynes.

You’ll have a strong technical understanding and hands-on experience with powertrain test cells, facilities, chambers and their component parts.

A few other key skills we are looking for: 

• Experience with measurement and instrumentation equipment such as power analysers, oscilloscopes, fuel weighers, emissions measurement, sensors and transducers  
• Experience with A/C drives and Batt SIM fault finding  
• An understanding of system communications – CAN, Flexray, LIN, Modbus, RS232/485 
• And software programming languages – Python, Visual Basic, MATLAB, .NET Framework 
• Commercial acumen 
• Ability to critique and improve activities through continuous improvement 
• Motivated and a self-starter
