Functional Safety Engineer

The role 

As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will act as the Functional Safety expert across a broad range of consultancy projects. You’ll be responsible for supporting the system engineers and taking responsibility for the Functional Safety deliverables.

Other responsibilities include: 

• Understanding the functionality of systems within the industry
• Generating Functional Safety documentation for each project following ISO26262
• Conducting documentation for fault-tree analysis, hazard analysis, functional and technical safety requirements, and validation plans
• Leading functional safety reviews both internally with the project team and with customers

The requirements 

You’ll have experience of supporting Functional Safety activities according to ISO26262, as well as…

• Minimum BSc or BEng (2:1) in Automotive, Electrical, or equivalent Engineering
• Relevant experience ideally in Systems or Safety Engineering
• Excellent communication and presentation skills and fluent in English
• Driving license valid for driving in the UK

Preferable:

• Project management experience
• Experience in conducting FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, HARA activities
• Experience in the development of one or more: automotive powertrain control systems, high-voltage electrical power supplies, hybrid vehicles, ADAS features or similar technical fields
• Track record of delivering Functional Safety documentation as defined by ISO26262
