The role
As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will act as the Functional Safety expert across a broad range of consultancy projects. You’ll be responsible for supporting the system engineers and taking responsibility for the Functional Safety deliverables.
Other responsibilities include:
- Understanding the functionality of systems within the industry
- Generating Functional Safety documentation for each project following ISO26262
- Conducting documentation for fault-tree analysis, hazard analysis, functional and technical safety requirements, and validation plans
- Leading functional safety reviews both internally with the project team and with customers
The requirements
You’ll have experience of supporting Functional Safety activities according to ISO26262, as well as…
- Minimum BSc or BEng (2:1) in Automotive, Electrical, or equivalent Engineering
- Relevant experience ideally in Systems or Safety Engineering
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and fluent in English
- Driving license valid for driving in the UK
Preferable:
- Project management experience
- Experience in conducting FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, HARA activities
- Experience in the development of one or more: automotive powertrain control systems, high-voltage electrical power supplies, hybrid vehicles, ADAS features or similar technical fields
- Track record of delivering Functional Safety documentation as defined by ISO26262
