Our client is on the search for a Field Service Engineer that can travel around South West UK to their customers and is keen to flex their expertise in the field. If you’ve got the knowledge to install, perform maintenance and repair optical instruments, our client wants to hear from you!

What you’ll be doing 
In short, your role will be providing first class field service support to our clients’ customer base. From installation to repairs, everything you do in this role will be to the highest standard to ensure customers have a smooth experience with the instrumentation.

Your day to day might look a little like this:
  • Planning the installation for new customer sites by communicating with the appropriate internal teams
  • Training customers to a high standard on the operational aspects of the installed instruments, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge to use it within their line of work
  • Providing remote diagnosis and repair support when required
  • Representing the company at Technical Shows and Exhibitions, giving demonstrations of instruments and software
  • Ensuring all repair parts are on site when needed and CRM transactions are completed thoroughly and in a timely manner

A bit about you
Ideally, you’ll be based in South West UK and have the ability to travel for work.

You’ll have a HND in Engineering or Electronics, or an equivalent education gained through work experiences. As well as this, previous field or commercial experience is necessary for this role.

A few other key skills we are looking for:
  • Previous technical experience within the Medical Device industry
  • Competent application of instrument operation, testing, maintenance, and repair procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both fellow employees and customers to the business
  • An ability to work autonomously to tight deadlines and manage time effectively
