Area Operations Manager - London
UK South
£70,000 - £80,000
You’re someone who loves detail. Whether it’s making sure things comply to regulatory standards, or handling the set-up of digital systems, getting things up and running smoothly makes you tick. You’ve put this into practice in your previous roles and know a thing or two about handling multiple clinical sites and making sure they’re all efficient, effective, and striving for excellence.
You’re now looking for that next step in your career. You want a role that combines a brilliant commercial opportunity with the autonomy to help build the roadmap for the future. And you want purposeful work, that makes a genuine, tangible difference to the lives of patients.
Well, look no further than this Area Operations Manager role for a rapidly growing skin-cancer screening provider in the UK. You’ll join them as they embark upon opening a raft of new clinics, and you’ll be tasked with keeping everything operationally excellent, compliant with regulations, and staffed with the best of the best.
Who’s it for and what’s in it for you?
Skin cancer is easier to treat the earlier it’s caught. And that’s what our client are all about, early detection and quality screening services that will help lower the mortality rate of skin cancer in the UK and reduce pressures on the NHS. They’re doing this through a combination of high-quality clinics ran by expert clinicians and the most cutting-edge tech in the industry.
Last year they helped over 30,000 patients, and they’ve got their sights set on even more. They’ve recently received PE-backing, so are on a mission to scale rapidly over the next few years. This role exists because of their ambitious plans to open more clinics (going from 8 to 21) and screen more patients than ever before, so now is a great time to join them.
As you’re joining them during a period of scaling, you’ll also have a direct interface with the leaders of the business. So, if you’re looking for a role that can give you autonomy and visibility, but also direct support and mentoring from people who’ve been in your shoes before, this is the perfect combination.
What will your day to day look like?
This role really is all about excellence. You’ll be tasked with the rollout and expansion of clinics across the UK, getting them set up and running effectively. An average week might look a little like:
- Handling the full process of opening new clinics
- Pushing for operational excellence across all clinic sites
- Making sure all new clinics are compliant with CQC standards
- Implementing Standard Operating Procedures for clinical and non-clinical operations
- Monitoring clinic KPIs (inc. productivity, performance, and efficiency)
- Overseeing the staffing for all clinics
- Keeping policies and procedures constantly up to date
- Leading on internal audits and inspection readiness
- Overseeing tech and equipment set up and maintenance
You’ll report directly into the COO in this role and will work closely with them to make sure that all new and existing clinics are running smoothly.
This role has never existed in this business before, so it’s a perfect opportunity to really make your mark and see the impact of your work in new clinics across the UK.
This role will suit you if you…
- Have handled multi-site operations before
- Understand CQC regulations and standards
- Know how to implement SOPs and KPIs for operational processes
- Are great at leading people to excellence
- Are tech-savvy and happy to handle digital systems/infrastructure
- Love dealing with data and using it to make informed decisions
