After a record-breaking year and growth across the world, our client’s highly successful North America sales team is seeking a highly driven VP Sales to lead their ambitious growth objectives and continued success. This role is central to the achievement of the business as you continue to build and scale a high performing team whilst maintaining a culture that fosters collaboration, autonomy, and transparency. North America is the most profitable region globally and have been experiencing steady year-on-year growth (circa 20%). In this role, you’ll be responsible for a third of the company’s revenue and an extensive growth plan across North America.

FMC Smart Industry has partnered with a market leader in the development of unique diagnostics and security software solutions, that enables partners and customers to safely dispose of and repurpose, old hardware at an enterprise level. You will be immersed in an exceptional work environment, with direct connections and collaboration with the other executives in the business.  

 
The role 

As a VP of Sales, you will be responsible for the sales business across North America (4 direct reports at Director level and a sales business of circa 15 below that), as well as managing and empowering each team member to achieve their goals. In addition to this you will be responsible for all revenue-generating activities across the territory including direct and indirect sales.   

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Developing, communicating and overseeing the US sales strategy and execution 

  • Providing detailed and accurate sales forecasting 

  • Driving revenue generation from new and existing accounts 

  • Working in close partnership with several internal teams on a global scale  

  • Refining the go-to-market approach and product roadmap 

  • Providing thought leadership and direction to the sales team 

  • Have a clear vision and the confidence to execute strategic growth plans 

  • Building and fostering relationships with strategic partners 

  • Collaborating with other sales leaders across the global organisation 

  • Hiring, mentoring and coaching your team to meet their personal goals 

 

The requirements 

You have previous experience in a VP of Sales role across North America, as well as… 

  • A successful track record of over-achieving against quota (between $15m-$30m) 

  • Extensive experience successfully leading sales teams in a competitive software/SaaS environment  

  • Proven success in developing teams across a wide territory 

  • Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal) 

  • Information Security experience is a plus 

  • Understanding of direct and indirect enterprise sales techniques 

  • Ability to work closely with the global marketing function to contribute to strategic campaigns and content creation  

  • Bring a hands-on approach to people development and leadership 

  • Previous experience with acquisitions to support our clients’ 3–5-year plan  

  • Experience managing managers is a must 

  • Able to build strong working relationships across the business 

  • Able to spot opportunities when they arise and design solutions 

  • Strong motivating skills and ability to provide leadership, direction, and mentoring 

  • Comfortable leading dispersed remote teams and embracing the flexibility it brings
