FMC’s Digital Plant team are working in partnership with a unique and expert provider of simulation and modelling applications for the industrial markets including oil & gas, chemicals, utilities and more. Having grown quickly their solutions are already utilised by engineers in over 30 countries and by hundreds of leading engineering organisations to optimise process design. In addition, their solutions are favored by governments, researchers, students, and academic environments to solve complex chemistry challenges thanks to their reliability, accuracy and effectiveness.

The role

As part of their continued global expansion, they are seeking to bring in an experienced VP/Head of Operational Excellence Solutions to join the leadership team and help to achieve their customer experience objectives. In this exciting new position, you will help to build customer solutions by collaborating with end users and deep diving into their software needs and chemistry challenges. You will understand the complexity and intricacy of engineering software and how to write software tools to be able to deliver effective solutions to their clients globally. You will help to bridge the gap between software development and consulting by playing a hybrid role and unite the two teams.

The requirements

You will possess a University degree in Chemical Engineering or Computer Science in addition to:

• 10+ years’ of demonstrable experience operating in consulting, customer success and software development in an engineering software environment

• A deep understanding of the industrial sectors, such as oil & gas, chemicals and utilities, and have operated in a customer facing setting working with senior stakeholders to understand their challenges

• Strong domain experience in Chemical Engineering and simulation/modelling software

• An energetic individual who is entrepreneurial as well as being organised and process orientated

• Able to demonstrate scenarios and experiences of digital transformation deployment and implementation in an industrial environment on client sites with senior stakeholders

• Fluent in English (other languages are also preferable) and flexible to travel to client sites regularly when required. You will also be a strong listener and clear communicator.
