Surgical robotics is one of the fastest growing markets in the medical devices space. One of the UK’s most exciting, award-winning companies is looking for a Field Service Manager to join them across the UK & Nordics.  

 

The company 

Our client is a disruptive player in the rapidly growing surgical robotics space. They produce state-of-the art robotics for the minimally invasive surgery space that are set to change the face of surgery forever. They have a close-knit and family-orientated culture in the business so they’re passionate about finding people that will fit in with their mission to make the next generation of surgical robot. Their robot will improve patient care and have a huge impact on the healthcare market, from surgeons to patients alike. 

 

The role 

As a Field Service Manager, you’ll be responsible for a dynamic team managing the field service activities for our client’s state-of-the-art robotics system. You will support surgical teams in clinical environments and customer hospitals and ensure technical excellence, and high levels of system availability and performance is delivered.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Meeting and exceeding customer SLAs in the UK and Nordic markets 

  • Ensuring the FSE teams are trained, competent, and managed throughout 

  • Collecting and reporting accurate KPIs 

  • Fulfilling the Customer Success functional objectives and OKRs 

  • Identifying and mitigating any resourcing gaps 

  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement 

  • Assessing, managing, and mitigating risks 

  • Managing budget and being accountable for expenditure 

  • Communicating effectively with other teams within and across functions of the business 

The requirements
You will have extensive experience of Field Service Engineering, ideally from the medical devices, robotics, or biomedical domains, as well as… 

  • A relevant technical degree or practical experience  

  • Be an experienced and respected manager with exceptional leadership skills  

  • Experience of working in an international organisation, particularly in the EU 

  • Knowledge of the clinical and surgical context of our clients’ product portfolio  

  • Pro-active service mindset, focused on customer satisfaction 

  • Outstanding collaborative problem-solving skills  

  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment  

  • Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal) 

  • Strong computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office) 

  • Willingness to travel globally when required
