Do you want to work for a cutting edge and leading organisation? We have partnered with one of, if not the, biggest names in software for architects, engineers, and other infrastructure professionals with their search for an Account Manager for Rail Infrastructure.  

 

The company 

FMC Smart Industry continue to support world leaders in engineering software who push the boundaries of innovation for the global AEC, Smart Cities, and infrastructure sectors. Our client is an engineering software powerhouse who put R&D, M&A activity, and brand enhancement at the forefront of their innovation strategy, propelling them ahead of their competitors.  

More recently, leading the way in Digital Twin, IoT, and simulation design and modelling software, they have thousands of customers based across the world. 

 

The role 

As an Account Manager, you will manage existing strategic accounts and prospective accounts within the rail sector in the UK and Ireland. You will target owners and operators as well as Tier 1 contractors and consultants involved in delivering large rail infrastructure projects.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Acting as the direct contact partner for all commercial communications  
  • Determining the sales strategy and value propositions  
  • Negotiating and implementing approved contracts 
  • Ensuring full alignment and effective collaboration with other teams within the business 
  • Identifying the maximum value to users and prospects through ‘Gap Selling’ 
  • Building relationships with prospects, customers, and partners 
  • Proactively working on developing proposals, the sales pipeline, and business forecasting 
  • Maintaining a high knowledge level of the company’s solutions and services 
  • Documenting the sales process in CRM 
  • Attending national and regional tradeshows, conferences, and industry events 
  • Maintaining and submitting weekly activity reports  

The requirements 

You’ll have a minimum combination of 10 years’ experience in the Engineering Industry and a professional enterprise-level sales role, as well as…  

  • Degree educated in Civil Engineering or a relevant field 
  • Able to deliver consistently against KPI’s and goals 
  • A strong understanding of the UK infrastructure market is highly desired 
  • Strong track record of working with Government type organisations 
  • Digital Twin / CDE sales experience
  • Understanding of the current and emerging technologies
  • Experience of selling Asset Management and Document Management solutions 
  • Strong listening, negotiating and presentation skills  
  • Able to manage and prioritise multiple tasks  
  • Results driven and hunter oriented  
  • Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal)
