As a Trainee Medical Service Engineer, you will be working with cutting edge Ultrasound equipment in high pressure medical environments and be the face of the Ultrasound service across the South West.

The role

Trainee Medical Service Engineer – Level 1. Field based role covering the South West including Wales. £27,000 basic salary plus overtime, company car, bonus, excellent holiday allowances and the opportunity to represent one of the best brands in the medical industry.

You’ll be joining the business as a Level 1 Field Service Engineer, working alongside experienced, highly skilled Level 2 and 3 engineers, learning the products, and building your knowledge of the company and industry. You will develop your technical knowledge and demonstrate this to maximise up-time and customer satisfaction. Our client pride themselves on their exceptional customer service levels which will be at the heart of this role.

The requirements

This training scheme is suitable for entry level candidates with an Electronic or Electrical HNC/HND qualification, apprenticeship, or degree. As well as…

  • Knowledge and experience of software diagnostics, networking, fault findings and electro-mechanical bias

  • Experience of working in a high-pressure environment

  • Personable, a clear communicator, and passionate for excellent customer service

  • Problem solver and technically minded

  • Interested in how networks and systems work

  • Willingness to absorb knowledge and learn from experts around you

  • Comfortable working individually and in a team environment

  • Responds well to feedback and personal development opportunities

  • Ability to manage workload and diary competently

  • A valid driving licence and comfortable covering a wide territory when needed


As you build your expertise and become an established Field Service Engineer you will progress through to Levels 2 & 3. Expect your pay to increase considerably as well as access to a market leading pension scheme.
