Do you have experience within medical devices sales and are looking for the next step in your career? Our client who specialises in medical device equipment is currently looking for an Orthopaedic Sales Representative to join their team covering the North East and West Yorkshire.

The role 

In the role of Orthopaedic Sales Representative, you’ll look after our client’s surgical consumables and sports medicine portfolio, directly selling these to surgeons and procurement managers. You’ll join a close-knit team who are all committed to providing the very best for their customers. 

You will also be responsible for building relationships with existing accounts, but also seeking new business opportunities to increase the revenue.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Selling orthopaedic and surgical products to surgeons and procurement 

  • Ensuring excellent patient outcomes by training and supporting clinicians and theatre staff 

  • Undertaking trials and evaluations of the products within the theatre environment 

  • Understanding of the product portfolio  

  • Presenting at workshops, exhibitions, and educational meetings 

  • Delivering post sales training and support for new and existing customers 

  • Produce and deliver solutions and value propositions through presentations  

  • Managing the sales lifecycle within the territory  

  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders  

  • Producing accurate and regular forecasts of sales opportunities 

  • Analysing the market to identify growth opportunities 

  • Identifying key stakeholders for the product portfolio 

  • Responding to customer issues 

 

The requirements 

Our client is looking for someone who is eager to take their next step in their medical device sales career. If you’re personable and driven with a background in orthopaedic or surgical sales, this could be the perfect role for you! 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is desirable 

  • 3-5 years’ experience in orthopaedic sales desirable (although surgical sales will also be considered) 

  • Experience working with accounts from prospecting through to implementation 

  • Strong sales track record and evidence of increasing the value of a territory  

  • Demonstrate robust product knowledge and selling skills  

  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills 

  • Focus on personal continuous improvement and development  

  • Strong motivational skills and able to work in pressurised environments 

  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as being self-motivated to work independently  

  • Computer literacy skills (including Microsoft Office Suite) 

  • Strong organisational skill and able to manage a territory 

  • Able to travel across the UK territory  

 

This Territory Manager role is field based, with time spent in the office on an ad hoc basis. When permitted, you will be expected to travel to customers across this territory.
