Do you have proven experience in and knowledge of the European shipbuilding industry? FMC Smart Industry are supporting a globally renowned engineering software vendor, who have pioneered industrial software. Our mission is to find a Technical Sales Specialist – Marine to join their team in Northern Europe.

The role 

As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support for sales opportunities with new and existing clients within the marine design and shipbuilding industry. You will work closely and collaborate with product management, product development and marketing services as well as customer support.  

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Providing pre-sales services as requested 

  • Assisting in finding new business 

  • Becoming an expert in our clients' marine and hull design product portfolio  

  • Becoming an expert in the shipbuilding industry 

  • Attending workshops, presentations, benchmarks, and conferences 

  • Delivering the value proposition of our clients’ solutions 

  • Providing technical support services including training, consultancy, and implementation 

The requirements 

You’ll have proven experience in, and knowledge of, the European shipbuilding industry, as well as… 

  • Degree in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent  

  • Experience using shipbuilding and or hull design software 

  • Excellent customer-facing skills 

  • Confident in presenting solutions and products 

  • Strong problem-solving skills  

  • Able to investigate the requirements of prospective client 

  • Able to effectively manage multiple and possibly competing commitments at the same time 

  • Skilled and experienced operating at all levels  

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
