The company 

FMC are currently supporting a global leader in the AEC software space with a particular emphasis on promoting the digitalisation of the construction industry. With more than 50 years’ experience, they provide innovative tools for designing and building structures and are immensely respected in the market.

The role 

As Technical Consultant, you will ensure customer acquisition and revenue growth targets are met within the North American territory by providing technical support internally and externally of our client’s software portfolio.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Providing technical demonstrations and support and respond to customer queries 

  • Attending industry conferences, association meetings and exhibitions  

  • Assisting with product development to increase usage and sales 

  • Developing key customer relationships within the market 

  • Providing training for existing and potential customers  

  • Processing documentation of individual customer and sales partner inquires  

  • Creating and maintaining regional technical documentation (FAQs) 


The requirements 

Our client is looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years working as a structural design engineer within the AEC or EPC sector. Contractor and Consultant bias are both desirable.  

Other requirements include: 

  • Bachelor or Masters’ Degree educated in Civil Engineering  

  • Extensive knowledge of BIM in the NA market and its future demands 

  • Prior experience utilising a CAD tool (3D preferred) 

  • Strong business sense and industry knowledge  

  • Able to communicate, present, and influence credibly at all levels 

  • Strong problem-solving skills  

  • Fluent in written and verbal English  

  • Excellent computer literacy skills (Office, Abode, web browsers and VPN) 

  • Able to develop long-term customer relationships 

  • Be able to work both in the office and remotely with self motivation and personal goal setting 

  • Willing to travel in the nationally and internally
