Our client, well-known within the automotive and motorsport markets, is currently looking for a highly skilled Team Leader to join their ICE Design team in Buckinghamshire.

The role 

As a Team Leader, you’ll join our client’s ICE Mechanical Design Department and lead the Bottom End Engineering Team. Within this role, you will lead the design, development, and failure investigations with absolute tenacity to deliver maximum performance and reliability. You will be responsible for the crankshaft, reciprocating components and associated plain bearings.

The requirements 

High-performance racing engine experience is a pre-requisite, as well as… 

• A Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent 

• Extensive experience in F1 hybrid power unit design is advantageous 

• A high level of Mechanical Engineering competence in both technical and practical applications 

• Experience in clean-sheet design from concept to track and a passion for innovation 

• A thorough understanding of engine design and its contribution to on-track performance 

• Proven history of successful fault investigation, containment, and rectification  

• Practical knowledge of stress analysis and EHD analysis  

• Proven track record of design for manufacture and design assembly
