The company

Specialising in electric and autonomous vehicle technologies, our client is an innovative company who produce software products and solutions for state-of-the-art vehicles, ranging from in-wheel motor technology to integrated power electronics and digital control. They are automotive technology pioneers whose fresh approach is driving the vehicle design revolution.

The role

As a Systems Engineer, you’ll help with the smooth running of engineering projects that exceed customer expectations. You will capture, analyse, and develop the system design and at later stages support design verification through test cases and reviewing test results. You will complete on-the-job training to help expand the required skill set.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in functional analysis and development of system, hardware, and software requirements  

  • Producing relevant safety work specifications and reports  

  • Collaborating with other engineering disciplines to develop robust technical solutions  

  • Analysing test results and supporting change management  

  • Contributing to risk assessments and ideas to improve schedule and reduce costs 


The requirements

You’ll have experience working within Systems Engineering or Requirements Management, as well as…

  • Degree level educated in a relevant Engineering field

  • Experience in the automotive industry 

  • Comfortable working as part of a multi-functional team 

  • A proactive approach to working  

  • Able to self-motivate and work under pressure  

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail  

Highly desirable… 

  • Member of a professional engineering body (IET/INCOSE) 

  • Understanding of high-power electric and hybrid powertrains 

  • Familiar with UML/SysML modelling languages and tools 

  • Knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink 

  • System verification and testing experience
