We are currently recruiting for a market-leading ophthalmology company who are focused on implementing innovative optical technologies into their specialist range of surgical equipment. They are currently looking for a Territory Manager for their Midlands territory.

The company

Our client is a well-respected brand in the surgical ophthalmology field who aim to provide high-quality products with performance and precision. This is an exciting time to be joining, they have strong growth projections alongside new products being launched into the market as well as the development of their existing portfolio.

The role

We are looking for a sales professional to join the established team, predominantly supporting devices and consumables used within the theatre environment.


Responsibilities include:

  • Growing sales in your territory through finding opportunities, initiating and closing sales, and maximising account revenues
  • Developing accounts by building relationships with key customers
  • Taking ownership of customer management including complaints and questions, handling these professionally
  • Liaising with Surgeons and other theatre staff
  • Acquiring in-depth knowledge of the surgical portfolio as well as ophthalmic surgery
  • Securing repeat business with both key accounts and new business


The requirements

You will live within the desired territory, as well as:

  • At least 1-2 years of field sales experience, ideally in a surgical theatre environment
  • Ophthalmology experience highly desirable (but not essential)
  • Ideally educated to degree level in a relevant subject
  • Excellent account management skills
  • The ability to secure repeat business with both key accounts and new business
  • Experience in developing relationships across different hospital settings (private and NHS)
  • Experiencing in controlling sales cycles
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Strong planning, forecasting and pipeline skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Goals and results orientated
