This is an exciting opportunity to join a team focused on driving new treatment options for glaucoma patients – with the aim of becoming the partner of choice for surgeons. Our client has a strong reputation for quality and innovation and this role provides the chance to be at the forefront of that by focusing on KOL engagement and market penetration.

The role 

In this role, you will sit inside the newly created Surgical Team. You will leverage the huge potential of this innovative technology, so it is vital that you’ll be a solutions-focused individual. You will ‘seed and nurture’ the market by creating awareness of the product portfolio, with the aim of winning new business and ensuring the adoption of the portfolio. You’ll be a true expert on the products and will use this clinical and technical knowledge to build deep relationships with clinical stakeholders. 

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Identifying and building up new accounts in surgical glaucoma

  • Achieving and exceeding sales targets of the surgical product portfolio 

  • Supporting training around glaucoma drainage surgery 

  • Providing clinical and technical expertise on the product portfolio 

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with KOLs across the territory 

  • Maximising the financial potential of your territory 

  • Developing account acquisition plans 

  • Identifying sales and market trends 

  • Producing accurate feedback on competitor activities in the field

  • Providing the very best in customer service 

  • Managing the budget for your territory 


The requirements 

You’ll have a strong track record of sales in the surgical ophthalmology space, as well as:

  • BSc in a related discipline 

  • Comfortable working in an operating room environment

  • Familiarity with clinical and hospital environments 

  • pro-active commercial mindset and a strong ability to adapt to a rapidly evolving market landscape 

  • Entrepreneur by nature, real team player before all 

  • A strong network of KOL and industry contacts in the ophthalmology space 

  • Able to drive a new product in the ophthalmic market

  • Excellent relationship-building skills with KOLs and stakeholders 

  • Good account management skills 

  • Strong commercial acumen 

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about surgical ophthalmology 

  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple accounts and projects at the same time 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  • Located in the North West territory
