Our key player in the ophthalmology market is currently expanding their surgical portfolio and is looking for a Surgical Partner to support them in taking this to market in Central UK.

A key market player in both glaucoma and dry eye treatment with a strong reputation for quality and innovation, they are currently expanding their surgical ophthalmology product portfolio and are developing unique, innovative therapies.


The role

As our client seeks to expand their presence in the surgical ophthalmology space, they are looking for a Surgical Partner to join their team in Central UK. This is a brand-new role designed to take a new surgical ophthalmic product to market and as such you’ll be working with a state-of-the-art, truly innovative product portfolio. Your core focus will be to introduce the portfolio to the market by creating awareness with KOLs and other stakeholders, with the ultimate aim of winning new business and ensuring adoption of the portfolio. You’ll be a true expert on the products and will use this clinical and technical knowledge to build deep relationships with clinical stakeholders.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Achieving and exceeding sales targets of the surgical product portfolio
  • Identifying new business opportunities
  • Supporting training around glaucoma drainage surgery
  • Providing clinical and technical expertise on the product portfolio
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with KOLs across the territory
  • Maximising the financial potential of your territory
  • Developing account acquisition plans
  • Identifying sales and market trends
  • Providing the very best in customer service
  • Managing the budget for your territory


The requirements

You’ll have a strong track record in a sales role in the surgical ophthalmology space, as well as being comfortable in an operating room environment.

  • BSc in a related discipline
  • A strong track record in a surgical ophthalmology sales role
  • Familiarity with operating room and hospital environments
  • A strong network of KOL and industry contacts in the ophthalmology space
  • Able to drive a new product in the ophthalmic market
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with KOLs and stakeholders
  • Good account management skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about surgical ophthalmology
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple accounts and projects at the same time
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
