Job description

Our client is currently looking for a Supply Chain & Procurement Manager to join their team and drive demand as they enter an exciting global scale-up. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supply chain manager looking to apply their experience to a new, challenging and dynamic role.

The company

Our client are pioneers in batteries. Following a recent £100m acquisition they are playing a key part in the solution for cheaper and cleaner energy provision. With this as a catalyst, the business is about to enter a period of considerable growth.

The role

In this role, you’ll join a division with a core focus of reducing and streamlining the environmental impact of supply and procurement. You will define a framework of initiatives that will drive improvements in planning and performance across the supply chain and guide the business through supply chain analysis and risks. You’ll focus on building strong relationships with the supplier base in order to conduct negotiations and positively influence outcomes.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Establishing processes to improve the quality, supply continuity and pricing of goods and services
  • Aligning the wider organisation to deliver against specific targets and goals
  • Driving effective decision making through strong data analysis and reporting
  • Delivering monthly reports against key targets
  • Managing cost-reduction projects that include engineering and manufacturing participation
  • Developing and executing sourcing and contract negotiations
  • Providing valuable input into our client’s technology and product development roadmap

The requirements

The successful candidate will have strong experience in supply chain and procurement, as well as:

  • Degree educated in a relevant field
  • Excellent networker with an established base of procurement and service contacts
  • Experience in customer supply chain and demand planning, particularly in volatile and ambiguous contexts
  • Strong commercial awareness of the total supply chain including order management and customer relationships
  • Knowledge of UN shipping codes, shipping agents, international customs regulations and hazardous material shipment is desirable
  • Logical, detail-orientated, and able to problem-solve
  • Technically minded and able to evaluate and implement new tools
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Highly organised with strong prioritization skills
  • Positive, driven and able to thrive under pressure
