Do you have demonstrable experience in mechanical structure design? Our client, an innovative green aviation start-up, is looking for a Structure Motor Design Engineer to join their growing team in the US.  

The role 

As a Structure Motor Design Engineer, you’ll support the development of our client’s fuel cell systems, and electric motors. You will also carry out detailed fatigue and damage tolerance analysis of motor structures whilst supporting the wider motor design team. 

Wider Responsibilities include:   

• Supporting configuration development and trade studies  

• Improving analysis capabilities 

• Collaborating with designers structural analysis in best practises  

• Identifying safety improvements and operational cost savings  

• Reporting on activity schedules, budgets and technical status 

• Reviewing and supporting certification activities 

The requirements 

You will have demonstrable experience in mechanical structure design, as well as…  

• Degree level educated in a relevant subject  

• Experience in finite element modelling and analyses codes 

• Experience and knowledge of engine static strength analysis methods 

• Knowledge of maintenance and repair practices used in the aerospace industry 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

• Knowledge of structural analysis methods and repair principles  

• Experience in MatLab/Simulink
