Do you possess a hunter mentality and work with enterprise software sales? Do you have previous experience of selling into the Oil & Gas sector? Our client is currently seeking a Senior Sales Manager to join their team in Germany.

The role 

As Senior Sales Manager your core focus will be on tackling delivery and growth of our client’s portfolio in Germany. You will join an exciting and talented Oil and Gas team who are based across the region to support their efforts in generating new business opportunities in both new and existing accounts. You will help to improve the buyer experience, capture new business, and increase direct sales by being a strong relationship builder, clear communicator and highly proactive across a variety of markets. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Establish a deep understanding of the territory  

  • Forming and maintaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders

  • Working across the sales lifecycle to develop a value-based sales framework  

  • Creating strategic growth vision and objectives within the account  

  • Ensuring operational excellence for the customer base 

  • Maintaining a working knowledge of industry competition  

  • Support regional sales, proposal development and contract negotiation   

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities 

  • Ensuring rapid responses to sales requests 

  • Supporting the business to achieve annual objectives  

  • Building strong relationships with the European Sales team members 

  • Supporting the sales process from business development through to negotiation 


The requirements 

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in enterprise software sales, management consulting or strategic planning within the Oil & Gas market. 

Other requirements include: 

  • Degree educated in a relevant field 

  • Able to clearly communicate sales processes and strategies 

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills  

  • Experience within the Oil & Gas Industry  

  • Industry knowledge of commerce, finance, and trade 

  • Highly technical with strong analytical skills  

  • Proven success in business development 

  • Proactive and able to credibly engage with customers 

  • A desire or experience of working within a progressive culture who takes innovation and software advancement seriously 

  • Demonstrable track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets 

  • Organised and able to work autonomously and as part of a team  

  • Experience selling into the German region 

  • New business hunter with a drive to open new relationships and expanding existing where appropriate 

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) 

  • Fluent in German  

  • Able to travel across Europe (when permitted)
