Do you have a passion for Formula 1 and motorsport? We are supporting our client in their search for a Sport Analyst & Lead Test Engineer to join their team in Kent and maintain, operate facilitate and develop the Formula 1 Sporting Services Systems Testing Environment.  

The company

Our client is responsible for the promotion of the FIA Formula One World Championships. The technology they develop will make watching both the races at the weekend and Drive to Survive more interesting as it will enable audiences to hear what those on the track are saying and seeing. 

The role 

As a Sport Analyst & Lead Test Engineer, you will configure and troubleshoot in real-time, monitoring and validating the live acquired data and ensure it is saved according to F1 procedures. You will be generating and publishing any pre-event, live and post-session data and analytical regulations and will be documenting all activity during F1 events.  

Responsibilities include:

• Focusing on all aspects of testing, quality assurance and quality control 

• Ensuring all necessary documentation is accessible to all relevant parties 

• Liaising with software and electronics engineers to develop the solutions on time 

• Taking ownership of system and testing procedures development  

• Participating in project development and relevant processes 

The requirements

You will have experience in Software System Testing with a critical focus on meeting user specifications/requirements, as well as…  

• HNC, HND or degree qualification in a related field is desirable  

• A passion for Formula 1 and motorsport 

• Familiar with cloud computing concepts, practices, and procedures (PaaS, IaaS) 

• Experience with Software Quality Assurance  

• Manual Testing experience 

• Able to mentally process and interpret information  

• Strong attention to detail, analytical and focused 

• Able to make accurate decisions under pressure  

• A drive for continuous improvement  

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)  

• Able to liaise with suppliers and clients with empathy and diplomacy  

• Able to take direction and works well within a team 

• Flexible and willing to travel internationally 

• EU driving licence
