Are you an inventive, creative, and communicative software developer looking for a client facing, yet highly technical role? Our client is searching for ambitious developers to play the role of Solutions Engineer in support of the sales team and industry executives. 

You will ideally be based in the Colorado area but working remotely and occasionally on premises throughout the US.

The role 

As Solutions Engineer, you will support sales activity by providing technical and industry expertise of software products to new and existing customers. You will create and demonstrate how the software works to solve real problems as well as, formulating customer requirements and our clients’ proposed solution. You do not need to have previous pre-sales or demo experience. This is a technical role in support of sales and you will be proficient in Java and Python development. You may have previously worked as a developer, business analyst and or implementation consultant.  


Other responsibilities include:  

  • Pro-actively engage in the sales cycle and take charge of the technical aspects  

  • Attending meetings with customers early on, to understand the problem  

  • Defining and implementing appropriate demonstrations  

  • Contributing to the development of proposals and estimations 

  • Representing the company at trade shows and conferences 

  • Playing an active role in the introduction of new products into the market 

  • Building and maintaining close links with development and implementation teams 

  • Supporting the development of strategic customer account plans 

  • Supporting sales with client business case development 


The requirements 

You’ll have a minimum of 1 year technology and industry experience, as well as: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a relevant Engineering or Technical subject   

  • Able to build demonstrations to present to the customer 

  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, Python, and databases 

  • Experience with SQL and RDBMS technology 

  • Experience with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and ETL tools (a plus not a prerequisite) 

  • Experience with any of the Cloud practices (AWS, Azure, GCP) 

  • A hands-on problem solver, with ability to think on your feet 

  • Able to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment  

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail 

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) 

  • Superior interpersonal and customer service skills 

  • Strong computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office)
