Are you ready to develop and enhance the next ground-breaking medical systems? Do you want to work in an agile and innovative environment? Our client is currently looking for a Software Engineer to join their team in the UK. 

 

The company 

A market leader, our client is focused on implementing innovative optical technologies into their range of high-value and high-tech capital equipment systems. They are a world-renowned German manufacturer with a reputation for delivering gold-standard technologies. 

The role 

As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for transferring knowledge and expertise on existing hardware control applications. The hardware products you will be working with are some of the most advanced analytical microscopy systems available in the market – exceptionally high-tech and high-value solutions. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Absorb and investigate the product software  

  • Develop a long-term product strategy  

  • Ensuring continuous process improvement 

  • Delivering the optimum solutions based upon the available information 

  • Contributing to research and development to aid the decision-making process  

  • Forming and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders

  • Supporting working relationships between teammates  

  • Provide improvements of existing technologies through analysis of the market

  • Writing summary reports for the relevant database  

  • Working in accordance with the company goals and business plans  

  • Documenting software design and facilitating its maintenance  

 

The requirements 

You’ll have a minimum of 5 years’ commercial development experience, as well as; 

  • Degree level educated in a relevant discipline 

  • C#, MFC and C++ CLI skills  

  • Knowledge of the medical devices industry 

  • Working knowledge of Visual Studio (2019 preferred) 

  • Knowledge of concepts and procedures including GIT and Azure DevOps  

  • Experience of working to relevant compliance standards  

  • Ability to generate and manage multiple internal and external stakeholder relationships  

  • Able to investigate complex issues and solve problems 

  • Strong analytical skills 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Good people management skills and a track record of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team 

  • Good IT literacy skills (including Microsoft applications) 

  • Able to travel across Europe (when permitted) 

  • Fluent in German desirable
