Are you a talented engineer with experience in developing high voltage battery systems and working with battery management software? Our client is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join their team.

Their high-performance solutions in the power electronics, battery, and electric motor domains are driving the adoption of electrification and driving the transition toward a carbon-neutral future.  

The role 

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll lead a talented team of engineers working to continuously improve the performance, quality, and safety of our client’s high voltage battery systems for motorsport applications. You will build strong relationships with customers and translate customer strategy into actionable projects, ensuring that quality solutions are delivered on time and to budget by owning the product definition and verification. 

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Leading engineering fault investigations through 8D methodologies, from diagnostics through to implementation 

  • Liaising with suppliers and partners to ensure suitable technical specifications are met 

  • Channeling resources effectively to support the business in achieving annual objectives  

  • Driving continuous improvement and best practice initiatives 

  • Working in accordance with processes and safety requirements 

  • Maintaining detailed knowledge of industry trends 


The requirements 

You’ll have 5+ years of experience in High Voltage vehicle battery systems in either a Systems engineering or BMS control software development role, as well as: 

  • Degree educated in Engineering or another relevant discipline 

  • High-level knowledge of battery technology and software including charging, discharging, and derate limits 

  • Demonstrable experience in the development and use of automotive or motorsport powertrain systems 

  • Experience in MATLAB Simulink code generation for embedded control systems 

  • Strong understanding of control system tools and data management software 

  • Customer focused with excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment  

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team 

  • Analytical, logical, and detailed orientated 

  • A curious individual who embraces new technology and innovation 

  • Fluent in French and/or German is advantageous 

  • Flexible and willing to travel
