The role

As Senior Product Support Engineer, you’ll be a core part of the set-up and operations of our client’s cloud-based solutions. Working with customers and field teams, you’ll make sure customers get the very best out of the products and will fix any technical issues that may arise. As a technical expert on our client’s software, you’ll use this knowledge to provide the solutions to business needs as well as planning, setting up, and monitoring cloud-based software for those customers. You’ll ensure the transition to cloud-based solutions is as smooth as possible!

Responsibilities include:

• Providing expert support on our client’s hardware, software and systems
• Providing support to field teams
• Setting up and monitoring customer installs in the cloud
• Streamlining product support processes
• Providing training to customer-facing support teams
• Aiding in the testing of new product versions
• Supporting new technology releases
• Supporting customers with the smooth transition to cloud based solutions
• Fixing technical problems

The requirements

You’ll have a strong technical ability and significant experience working in a similar support role. Other requirements include:

• Degree-level educated in computer science, electronic engineering, physics or a related subject
• Technically-minded and savvy
• Experience with distributed software systems and cloud-based systems
• Strong understanding of Windows Server and Linux
• Experience with network protocols and security protocols
• Knowledge of virtualisation and elastic computing
• Good coding skills (preferably in C# or C++)
• Able to perform coding in scripting environments desirable
• Analytical and curious with excellent problem-solving skills
• Able to identify and fix hardware and systems issues
• Excellent trouble-shooting ability
• Highly organised and good at time/project management
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Able to train other users
• Consultancy experience desirable
