We’re working with a global transmissions consultancy who are looking for a Principal Power Electronics Engineer to join their team and lead on power electronics projects.

Our client is on a mission to create the future of powertrains. They work on the full lifecycle from strategic planning to testing of powertrain and electrification technologies. They’ve got a rich history in the automotive space, working with major vehicle OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to optimise their products.

Working towards a more sustainable future, they are operating in the electrification space to advance the development of new, more sustainable technologies.


The role

As Principal Power Electronics Engineer you’ll be the technical lead on power electronics projects for our client’s electrified powertrain capabilities. You’ll be true power electronics expert and will work in a hands-on manner on a variety of projects, alongside mentoring other members of the team and passing on your technical knowledge.


The requirements

You’ll have at 5 years’ experience in power electronics design, specifically in the Automotive sector. Other requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, electric drives, or an aligned subject
  • A strong track record in an aligned role, ideally in a consultancy environment
  • Strong understanding of power electronics design in the automotive sector
  • Proven technical design experience
  • Able to lead on projects and mentor teams in a hands-on way
  • Experience working with inverter technology
  • Able to define and review electrified powertrain requirements and architectures
  • Previous experience designing reviewing test plans
  • Able to work autonomously
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Passionate and hands on
