Our client has a rich history in the automotive space, working with major vehicle OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to optimise their products. The role

As Senior Power Electronics Engineer, you’ll utilise state of the art simulation techniques and design tools to design, develop and prototype transmission, driveline, and actuation systems. You will help to combine and develop new techniques and analysis methos for use within the company.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Delivering technical work packages and whole projects
  • Managing your own and others workload within small to medium sized projects
  • Undertaking work with a high level of autonomy
  • Building strong, professional relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Presenting influential material to peers, customers, and technical forums
  • Taking ownership of proposals from initiation through to submission


The requirements

You’ll have proven experience of automotive transmission design and/or analysis experience, as well as:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or an aligned subject
  • Demonstrable background in design and analysis of precision rotating components and systems
  • Competent in design and CAE analysis of rotating systems
  • Proficient in some key software packages (incl. SMT MASTA, Romax, UGNX, Catia)
  • Proven track record of managing small to medium sized projects
  • Excellent levels of attention to detail
  • Able to lead on projects and mentor teams in a hands-on way
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Multilingual is advantageous
