Job description

Our client is looking for a self-motivated, resilient, and flexible Model Based Control Systems Engineer at both Engineer and Senior Engineer Level to support their future model development in Leicestershire.

The role 

As Model Based Control Systems Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the development of customer facing features from early software definition through to release for production programmes. You will create engineering deliverables such as Software Architecture, Requirements, Specifications and System FMEAs. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Managing software requirements, implement, verify, and validate designs 

  • Review logical architectures and convert these to software architectures and software solutions 

  • Maintaining traceability of software units on the MBSE Tools 

  • Supporting generation of Safety Cases and validate systems 

  • Support planning activities with manufacturing departments and other internal teams 

  • Developing and peer reviewing technical reports 

  • Engaging in continual improvement activities to advance departmental procedures 

The requirements 

You’ll have a high proficiency in Matlab Simulink, Stateflow, auto-coding and debugging on target hardware. Other requirements include: 

  • BEng or MEng in Electrical, Electronic, or Embedded Systems Engineering or equivalent  

  • Proficient in full V-Cycle, modelling UML/SYSML, and vehicle communication systems 

  • Knowledge of embedded C programming and structured design 

  • Experience of working in a Tier 1 or OEM automotive environment is desirable  

  • Experience of working with safety-critical systems to ISO26262 

  • Self-motivated, resilient, flexible, and adaptable  

  • Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines and agreed timescales  

  • Logical approach to problem solving  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Flexible and willing to undertake UK and overseas travel as required
