The role 
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll assume a leading role among a team of ambitious engineers and bring your technical expertise to lead a variety of fast-paced projects. You’ll apply your wealth of design and analysis experience to a range of technologies and applications and build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure that you deliver effective solutions that satisfy their requirements. 

Other responsibilities include:

• Defining clear and robust project approach processes

• Deliver on projects on time and to budget

• Ensuring rapid responses to customer requests

• Maintaining operational excellence for the customer base

• Presenting data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Translating client strategy into actionable projects 

• Creating technical project proposals 

• Acting as a lead change agent, able to channel resources effectively

The requirements

You will have a proven track record of innovation within a series of powertrain projects, as well as…

• Demonstrable success managing small to medium-sized projects, both in a technical and commercial environment 

• Familiar with key software packages within drivetrain engineering (including SMT and MASTA)

• Strong understanding of the design and CAE analysis of rotating systems 

• Experience in automotive, transmission or precision engineering design or analysis  

• Knowledge of key engineering processes and procedures 

• Demonstrable experience in applying fundamental mechanical engineering principles to complex problems 

• Outstanding information gathering and problem-solving skills

• Analytical, logical and detail-orientated 

• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment 

• Willing to develop and take on complex technical concepts

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Fluent in English and another language (ideally French, German or Korean)
