Do you want to work for a leading developer of motorcycles? Our client is seeking a highly technical Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with clear strength in detail and delivery to join their team in Leicestershire.

The role 
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll bring your expertise to this role by delivering the Design and Development of a number of components on a motorcycle, consulting with Chief Engineers and Specialists as required. You will deliver all components to the time, cost, quality and specification in line with business processes and KPIs.  
Other responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating across the entire supply chain to maximise effectiveness 

  • Creating and maintaining detailed project plans  

  • Ensuring all deliverables are met to promise 

  • Following established processes, and procedures and working to best practice 

  • Minimising risk to projects and products  

  • Escalating concerns, risks, and issues up through the reporting chain 

  • Undertaking and assisting with other projects as required by your manager  

 

The requirements 
You’ll have previous experience working within an automotive or manufacturing environment, as well as:

  • MEng or BEng in an Engineering related subject  

  • High attention to detail and technical approach to work 

  • Gets value added from more experienced staff 

  • Comfortable working independently as experience increases 

  • Thinks ahead regarding risk and mitigations for all designs 

  • Demonstrable awareness of the importance of high-quality work 

  • Willing to be accountable for tasks and follow these through to completion 

  • Desire and ability to learn and take guidance from others 

  • Able to be flexible with working hours
