Our client is seeking a highly motivated Engineer with a demonstrated ability for design and development in a fast-paced environment to join their team based in Northamptonshire.

The role 
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will support the team by producing design solutions that arise from new product design, customer requests and other ad hoc activities. Working to a range of industry standards for quality and validation, you will provide solutions based on a robust methodology that will keep our client at the forefront of technology in the years ahead.  

Other responsibilities include:

• Maintaining operational excellence for the customer base 

• Building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

• Presenting data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders 

• Translating client strategy into actionable projects

• Working in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 
   

The requirements 

You must have a sound knowledge of engineering principles and materials, and an ability to apply your experience creatively in the development of world-leading innovative products, as well as…

• Degree educated in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline 

• 5 years of experience in a design and development environment  

• Strong experience with CAD software, preferably CATIA V5 

• Confident in interpreting mechanical FEA studies 

• Experience proposing solutions and improvements to design issues 

• A good understanding of design for assembly and constraints for low-volume manufacture 

• A good understanding of materials and associated mechanical properties 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Willing to develop and take on complex technical concepts
