Job description

Are you a talented embedded software engineer looking for a new challenging position in a dynamic company? Our client is looking for a highly motivated Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join their team. 

The company 

Our client is responsible for the promotion of the FIA Formula One World Championships. The technology they develop will make watching both the races at the weekend and Drive to Survive more interesting as it will enable audiences to hear what those on the track are saying and seeing.

The role 

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you’ll bring your expertise to produce a wide range of bespoke solutions that support the timing, televising, and organisation of Formula 1 events. This is an exciting opportunity to help create and tailor a variety of new technologies and tools for the electronics landscape. 

Other responsibilities include: 

  • Collaborating with a team of systems, hardware, and embedded software engineers 

  • Acting as a lead change agent, able to channel resources effectively  

  • Defining clear and robust project approach processes  

  • Delivering on projects on time and to budget  

  • Designing, implementing, and refining processes   

  • Ensuring safety measures are complied with and recorded  

  • Owning technical engagements to ensure successful delivery of projects  

  • Analysing test results and proposing effective solutions 

  • Maintaining a highly methodological and structured approach to work 

 

The requirements 

You’ll have a strong background in the engineering domain, with experience in embedded system development and support, as well as: 

  • Degree educated in Electronics Engineering or another relevant discipline 

  • Experience in product design with electronic elements and components 

  • High proficiency in C and Python programming 

  • Strong understanding of programming in VHDL or Verilog 

  • Experience in Linux development in an embedded environment

  • Resilient and able to thrive under pressure 

  • Analytical, logical and detail-orientated 

  • Outstanding information gathering and problem-solving skills 

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team 

  • Organised and able to prioritise effectively 

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor information to an audience 

  • Flexible and willing to travel internationally 

  • Full UK driving licence
