Job description

Do you have excellent electronics engineering and leadership capabilities? Our client, well-known within the automotive and motorsport markets, is looking for a highly skilled Senior Electronics Engineer – Embedded Systems to join their team.

The role

As a Senior Electronics Engineer – Embedded Systems, you will bring your technical knowledge to lead the specification, development and operation of embedded systems for power units that will support our client’s racing capabilities. You’ll liaise with multiple stakeholders to gain a detailed understanding of their requirements whilst leading, mentoring and inspiring a team of engineers through all stages of hardware design projects. 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a lead change agent, able to channel resources effectively   

  • Identifying the root of development and quality issues and generating solutions

  • Co-ordinating engineering changes and maintaining detailed design records

  • Liaising with suppliers to ensure suitable technical specifications are met

  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives

  • Working by processes and safety requirements

  • Producing technical documentation and specifications 

 

The requirements

You’ll have 5 years of experience in embedded systems projects, as well as:

  • Degree Educated in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) 

  • Proven track record of successful fault investigation, containment, and rectification 

  • Detailed knowledge of schematic design and PCB layout of digital and analogue circuits 

  • Highly organised and able to meet tight deadlines 

  • Strong understanding knowledge of Electrical and Electronic systems used within the Motorsport, Aerospace or Automotive industries

  • Strategic thinker with outstanding data-gathering and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Strong leadership skills 

  • Able to take on challenges within a fast-paced, technical environment

  • Results-orientated and driven
