Do you have a minimum of 5 years of experience in design and integration of electrical and communication networks in the vehicle industry? Our client is looking for an Electrical and Electronic Systems Engineer to join their team in North Yorkshire.

 

The company
Our client design, manufacture and sell advanced single and double deck buses within the automotive market. They have developed a range of low-carbon buses with optimised drive systems, setting the benchmark for fuel economy and CO2 reduction. Their lightweight engineering, premium service and low running costs all contribute to these advanced passenger vehicles designed for a global market.

The role

As Electrical and Electronic Systems Engineer you will support the selection and integration of various electrical and electronics components & systems of an Electric Vehicle with ADAS features.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the definition of low and high voltage electrical requirements
  • Completing specifications and design documentations for EV applications
  • Designing various topology products within the company’s portfolio
  • Designing high voltage technology
  • Supporting the development of the Quality manuals as per TS16949
  • Supporting issue resolution of systems and technical problems
  • Designing appropriate DVVP, Design and Test standards at all levels
  • Developing the specifications for all subsystems and components
  • Deliver projects on time and within cost constraints
  • Carrying out verification testing and validation
  • Delivering robust architectures through best practices such as DFMEA, DFA, DFM

The requirements

You will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in design and integration of electrical and communication networks in the vehicle industry. As well as…

  • BTech / MTech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • Hands on experience in design of electrical and communication networks
  • Working knowledge of high voltage and high-power devices
  • Understanding of ISO 26262 and its impact on vehicle architectures
  • Knowledge of on-board / off-board diagnostics
  • Hands on experience in designing, setting up and testing using MIL, SIL, and HIL
  • Hands on experience in system integration testing
  • Experience in tools such as Mentor Graphics Capital Suite, Preevision, CANalyser, CANape, CANOE, MATLAB, PLECS, Orcad, Pspice, dSpace, etc.
  • Ability to determine root cause of design failures
  • Strong track record of system integration and delivery – automotive domain is preferred
  • Analytical with strong attention to detail
  • Able to work both autonomously and as part of a team
